We are so happy to announce our ninth season. A lot of things are happening this year. We continue to offer workshops for improving music skills and conducting, to vocal technique and refined tuning. We have three great programmes. And this year all our concert will be presented in Hamilton on Saturday evenings and in Oakville on Sunday afternoon.
On October 22, 7:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Apostle Church in Waterdown and on October 23, 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church in Oakville, we open our season with a program of Renaissance sacred music—considered the most beautiful of all.
Four magnificent voices recreate the atmosphere of a Renaissance church setting in performing the music of Palestrina, Josquin and many others. The acoustics of St. Thomas in Waterdown and St. John’s in Oakville offer the perfect settings to make the music come alive and reverberate in the manner of centuries old European churches.
Enjoy the heavenly sounds of a cappella settings of Palestrina’s Ave Maria, Victoria’s O vos omnes, Josquin’s Gaude virgo. Discover the powerful Laudate Nomen Domini by Tye, Pater noster by Willaert, the enchanting Messe Psallite Domino by Ambleville, and the uplifting Alleluia Confitemini Domino by Mouton.
This is only the first of many exciting concerts this season. Be prepared to lose yourself in the beauty of the music and to travel through time when those heavenly sounds were created. The world of Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Galileo is at your door step.
