Show that special someone you care this Valentines Day. Bring them to Musikay’s concert this weekend.

Join us and enjoy some of the most delightful love music from the Renaissance period.

Join us on February 11, 7:30 p.m. in e wonderful acoustics of St. Thomas the Apostle Church (715 Centre Road, Waterdown) and February 12, 3:00 p.m. in the intimate setting of St. John’s United Church (262 Randall Street, Oakville) to enjoy some of the most delightful love music from the Renaissance period.

The beautiful and rich voices of Musikay perform in an intimate and unusual setting, the popular and well loved Wilbye’s Adieu sweet amaryllis, Dowland’s All ye whom love or fortune, Lasso’s Bonjour mon coeur, Downland’s Come again, Farmer’s Fair Phillis. Nothing compares though to the profoundly emotional Monteverdi’s Lamento d’arianna: lasciatemi morire, Handel’s Lascia ch’io pianga, Desprez’s Mille regretz. A concert about love would not be complete without Lasso’s Mon coeur se recommande, and Arbeau’s Pavane.

This Valentine season is the perfect time to discover the sweet and passionate love songs of the Renaissance era, and our concert is the perfect place to meet and mingle with other lovers of Renaissance music.
