Traveling to Europe is one of those experiences that remains with us our entire life. The landscapes are magnificent, the people are welcoming, the food is excellent, the wine is world class. What seems to touch us the most is the architecture: visiting buildings that have existed for centuries and still look as impressive today as they did when they were new. Standing in a castle or a church that was built over a thousand years ago, and realizing that thousands of people stood at that same place. Walking in front of the Louvre Museum and realizing that this place was a market welcoming people from all over Paris to get food for their family well before it became a touristic attraction. But the most poignant feeling for many is to enter a cathedral and hear music reverberating almost endlessly through those gray walls made even more powerful by the dim light coming through some magnificent stained glass window.

That musical experience is what Musikay offers you on October 22 and 23. Granted the walls at St Thomas and St John’s are not gray and there is a lot of light, but the music will be just as magical.

We perform the music of Josquin, Palestrina, di Lasso, Victoria, and many others exactly like they were performed at the time of the composers’ lives. No fluff, no artificial “flavours”; just heavenly music in its purest form.

You can close your eyes and imagine you traveled back in time over four hundred years to the period of Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Galileo.

Join us and experience the musical beauty of the Renaissance.
