Hamilton-based chamber choir Villanella is looking to add sopranos, altos, and basses for the 2016 – 2017 season.
Rehearsals are in West Hamilton at Grace Lutheran on Wednesday evenings.
Our repertoire is predominately European music composed in the 15th and 16th century when cathedral single voice chanting gave way to exquisite SAB polyphonic music both sacred and profane.
The music is both stunningly beautiful and challenging to sing. For that reason, all singers must be experienced, confident choristers who prepare their parts diligently and come to rehearsals ready to address the musicality, sound quality, and blend of the group. Dedication to holding your own in your part is essential for the quality of our performances.
Performances are in late November and early May in local churches and concert halls with lovely acoustics and even lovelier audiences… and delicious receptions. Yes, there will be chocolate.
